Some people enter your life like a gentle impulse. Like a quiet companion who reminds you how to find your way back to yourself. Kornelia Schwitzer is one of these rare companions.

Born in South Tyrol, rooted in the traditions of the mountains, she has been guiding people through the emotional and physical landscapes of their lives for over twenty years. Her work goes beyond thinking – it starts with feeling, letting go, and the question of how we allow the body to take the lead again.

At Sojourn, we are drawn to practices that awaken precisely this presence. We specifically seek out rituals and experts in Europe who connect us with natural minerals – gemstones and precious metals – and with materials that have been part of European healing traditions since the 16th century. These elements carry a special quality, a deep resonance with the body that may initially seem unfamiliar or elusive. But as soon as one engages with them – with ritual, breath, and touch – their transformative power begins to unfold.

It's about devotion. About trusting one's own body. And about allowing the process of growth and change.

Kornelia's work embodies precisely this attitude. As a Soul Ritual Guide and somatic expert, she combines the wisdom of the mountains with modern body-based approaches. She works with gemstones, silver quartzite, larch resin, and mountain juniper – creating experiences that are both grounding and opening.

Somatic Power Source

"I am an expert in somatic, naturopathic body experiences, rituals, and retreats with over 25 years of experience. Born in South Tyrol, I combine the traditional healing knowledge of the mountains with my gift for emotionally guiding people through challenging phases of life. Whether in personal coaching, individual rituals, or for exclusive business teams – I create profound transformative experiences that sustainably change perspectives and enrich lives."

Reading her work quickly reveals:

This is not about concepts, but about genuine experience. It's the kind of work we consciously seek at Sojourn – rituals and formats that make us pause, that lead us to feel, and that enable us to move forward renewed. It's about allowing development – regardless of whether it manifests gently or intensely – and understanding the body as the central site of this change.

Interview with Kornelia Schwitzer

Sojourn: Your work seems deeply personal – almost like a quiet calling. When did you first feel that your path was to guide others back to themselves?

Kornelia: For me, it never felt like work – it feels like a calling, a quiet yet unwavering mission that has lived within me for as long as I can remember. Only in retrospect have I truly begun to understand this. Since childhood, I have carried an incredibly strong energy within me, I carry a strong inner heat. This warmth has always attracted people, especially those in difficult or vulnerable moments of their lives. It's something I didn't learn, but something that was simply there. Even at a young age, I felt an intuitive desire to accompany them – not on the surface, but inward. I wanted to help them gently reach the root of what they were feeling, to a place where something could truly release and transform. I became consciously aware of this gift around the age of eleven. In retrospect, it feels less like a beginning and more like remembering something that was always a part of me.

Sojourn: In everything you create, there is a sense of journey, of return. How do you describe this inner journey, this inner Sojourn, to which you invite others?

Kornelia: When someone comes to me, it's important to understand that this is not about quick, external solutions. I often observe that people – perhaps shaped by centuries of conditioning – try to process everything through the mind. But the truth is, the mind in today's world is deeply overwhelmed. In a single day, we are exposed to as much information as a farmer in 1900 might have experienced in his entire lifetime. The way I work is an empathetic path.

A client recently described it beautifully:

"The primeval stone gently asks for permission – and then goes uncompromisingly deep to the origin of the wound, to heal it there with warmth and security."

I think that describes this inner journey very well.

Sojourn: Your practice is rooted in European heritage and the language of nature. What draws you to these ancient rituals, and why are they so relevant today?

Kornelia: In earlier times, people had the time to truly observe. From this deep observation – from what was formerly called "signatures," as described by Paracelsus, for example – healing methods began to emerge. These were rooted in four essential areas: mineral remedies, plant remedies, animal remedies, and what could be called "transcendent" remedies. What fascinates me to this day is the combination and interaction of these four areas, as well as the intuitive sense for the appropriate state of each remedy. This is very far removed from standardised modern ceremonies, which absolutely have their justification and are particularly suitable for beginners. But those who want to go deeper often feel more connected to the ancient wisdom and teachings.

Sojourn: You work with materials that carry both history and energy within them. What does the Silberquarzit® Urstein Ritual mean to you, and how does it shape the experience you create?

Kornelia: The Silberquarzit Urstein Ritual is a deeply sacred ritual for me, as I developed it over more than two years. It's not just about working with sacred materials that were not created by human hands, but about creating a holistic, high-energy, and deeply rooted sense of security in people. I call this state the "Urstein coma." It is a moment of complete surrender, a moment of deepest inner freedom. In this state, new paths and solutions begin to emerge, one's own energy is amplified, and one grows beyond the mind. This moment is incredibly beautiful and sacred – for those who experience it, and also for me as the one who guides it. Every ritual and every technique I have developed was born with the intention of gently leading to precisely this state.

Sojourn: The experience you offer goes beyond the physical, it feels immersive, almost transformative. How do you create these moments so that people truly feel, rather than just observe?

Kornelia: For me, it is essential not to rely on mental techniques, as they stimulate the wrong area of the body – the mind. To create real change, you have to go deeper, into the body, where old patterns are stored. I work with somatic approaches and often combine several techniques that work on different levels: breathwork, smudging rituals, blindfolded body experiences that release emotions, earth-based experiences, or cold resistance. Especially in one-to-one retreats, I access my full potential when I follow my intuition from 7 a.m to 9 p.m, guiding my clients through deeply immersive somatic work. In a relatively short time, this allows them to reach a real turning point in their lives and get directly to the root of their issues. In these moments, the ego begins to soften and dissolve, and what remains is pure feeling. It is the most beautiful feeling: to be fully present, in the moment and in deep trust.

Sojourn: What was the vision behind combining somatic bodywork with these materials? How did this idea originate and how has it evolved?

Kornelia: Like everything in my life, this moment was guided – it didn't arise from a mental vision. More than 20 years ago, I came to Stein in the Pfitsch Valley, right at the end of one of the most remote valleys in South Tyrol. It is an ancient crossing into the Ziller Valley, a very raw and powerful valley, known for its extraordinary crystals and minerals. Around the turn of the century, Tyrolean zircons from the Pfitsch Valley were well-known throughout Europe.

The Silberquarzit quarry itself is a unique relic of the ancient European coastline, like a huge quartz source, a kind of mother rock of all crystals. This place, to which I returned again and again with my two children, became a place of deep sensing for me – almost like an emotional flash of insight.

There, everything came together: my work as a masseuse, my experience as an active stone collector in the Hochfeiler Mineral Club, and my numerous training courses in herbal and natural medicine. At a certain point, my intuition became very clear: now is the time to create something profoundly somatic, something that helps people regulate and release tension in their nervous system. That was the birth of the first ritual.

SOMA – one of my newer rituals – integrates more active somatic techniques such as breathing, shaking, tapping, and toning. The Urstein Ritual, on the other hand, is a sacred, monotonous ritual of deep gentleness. Both dissolve the activity of the mind, but the quality of the experience is completely different.

Sojourn: In a world that constantly pulls us outwards, your work gently leads us inwards. What does it mean to you to help someone uncover what is already within them?

Kornelia: Every single day I am grateful for this gift, because the moment of witnessing it is always a true present itself. When people are speechless after a breathwork session or a smudging ceremony, when they don't want to leave the room, when they are so deeply with themselves – their eyes full of gratitude, almost disbelieving about what they have just experienced – then these are the moments that fill me with deep inner peace and a feeling of bliss.

Priceless. For them – and for me as well.

Sojourn: After your sessions – how do you recommend integrating these changes into daily life so they can continue to unfold?

Kornelia: That is indeed a very important question.

First, it is essential to engage with spirituality daily – not with religion, but with true spirituality. I provide various impulses for this. And second, it’s about daily training in releasing blocked and stored emotions through somatic techniques such as breathing, shaking, and tapping. Conscious water intake and regular reflection are also important.

It's about getting honest with yourself and truly asking: What situations cause acute stress in me? Where do I overstep my own boundaries? How often do I say yes because my mind tells me to, while my heart clearly says no? How often do we stay in toxic relationships for perceived benefits, even though our feelings speak a completely different language? Yes, there is much to do, especially when you start working with somatic practices and rituals. This is precisely where real, conscious reflection begins. Step by step, you begin to clarify your own life. And this selective letting go – not against others, but for oneself – feels deeply liberating. The rest unfolds quite naturally. Guaranteed.

Kornelia Schwitzer's work is a reminder that transformation is not something we chase – but something we make space for. Through her connection to nature, her mastery of somatic practices, and her intuitive guidance, she creates rituals that invite us to slow down, let go, and consciously perceive our own journey. This is precisely the experience we seek at Sojourn – for ourselves, for our readers, and for our community: to truly feel, to evolve naturally, and to understand the body as an access point to our own inner journey.
